we look for ourselves,
haunted by shadows of the past,
scarred by painful memories.
we hope to find ourselves,
free of burden,
healed by the cure called time.
we dare to imagine,
how it could be,
but we rarely dare to change,
the way it is.
we feel comfort in misery,
as it is so familiar,
we are afraid of change,
as it is new and unknown.
and on this trip called life,
we are so busy with ourselves,
blurred by worries.
that we often forget to live.
